Lighthouse Special Events Program

Frequently Asked Questions

When can I book?
Please email the Program Director so to initially check your preferred date and time.  Also, include estimated party size, any additional questions about the program and a contact number for a follow up phone call.

Will you hold dates?
We can hold a date for 48 hours without a deposit. Thereafter a deposit and a signed contract are needed.

Do you have tables and chairs?
We have 25 white painted wooden chairs with padded seats available for your rental duration. The picnic tables located throughout the park are available for public use for outside activities beyond the lighthouse rental.

What kinds of decorations are permitted?
The lighthouse is a historic building and no decorations can hang on the lighthouse itself. Although, we have a beautiful arch for decorating available for rent (think flowers, signs, streamers).  Bouquets & vases of flowers are allowed.  The release of birds or butterflies, throwing of rice, confetti, flower petals or any other material is not allowed.  Bubbles permitted.

What is the minimum rental period?
One hour for photo sessions, two for weddings.

What does a FOLKS chaperone do?                                              A FOLKS chaperone makes sure your rental goes smoothly. They unlock/lock the lighthouse and will help to direct guests to your event and to the restrooms.  There is no running water at the lighthouse, please no food or beverages inside the building!

Can we have amplified music?
Nothing outside other than acoustical.  Okay if contained to the inside of the lighthouse.

May we use candles and heaters?

What kind of parking arrangements do you offer?
Two special passes will be provided to you.  All cars will have to display the Washington State Discover Pass (annual pass $30) or purchase a one-day parking pass ($10 per pass) while in the park.  Should you have a large party, carpooling or arranging a shuttle service helps tremendously. The parking lot could fill up given peak/whale season.  Here is a link to find Discover Passes online @ http://discoverpass.wa.gov/.

Can we or our vendors drop off, decorate, etc. early or pick up items later than our contracted rental period?

May my guests walk through the Park during our event?
Yes.  Only the designated area of your event will be reserved and not open to the public during your wedding. The rest of Park is open to the public at the time of your wedding.

Do I need any kind of a permit for the event?
Yes, a Special Activity Permit must be obtained from the Park Ranger 60 days prior to your event.  The current fee for this permit is $20, which is not part of the rental fees outlined.  FOLKS will assist you in securing the Special Activity Permit.  Fill out the permit and return all copies with your rental agreement.  A Park Ranger will complete the permit and return your copy once processed.
